The Public Enterprise Una National Park Ltd. Bihać organized the FRED Demo Day, held on June 9, 2026, in cooperation with the Civil Protection Service of the City of Bihać, which includes the Bihać Firefighting Unit.
During the event, the objectives and results of the FRED (Fire Free MED) project were presented, along with the application possibilities of the FRED platform for the prevention and management of wildfire risks. Following the presentation session, participants visited the pilot area of Ostrovica Old Town in Kulen Vakuf, where a practical demonstration of an unmanned aerial system (UAS/drone) was conducted, showcasing its potential for terrain monitoring, early fire detection, and the protection of natural assets.
The event was attended by representatives of the Civil Protection Administration of the Una-Sana Canton, professors from the Faculty of Biotechnical Sciences, members of the Mountain Rescue Service (GSS) Bihać, as well as other representatives of institutions and organizations interested in improving protection and rescue systems and applying modern technologies in nature conservation.

The FRED (Fire Free MED) project is being implemented within the Interreg Euro-MED Programme with the aim of enhancing wildfire prevention and risk management through the application of innovative technological solutions.
