The University of Rijeka, Faculty of Maritime Studies, in cooperation with the Department of Logistics and Sustainable Mobility of the University of the North, organized second edition of the “International Conference on Sustainable Transport” – SuTra 2024, which was held from September 26 to 28 in the Terme Sveti Martin Resort.
The main focus of the conference is on research and development of innovative scientific and engineering solutions through an interdisciplinary approach, with the aim of bringing together the academic community, the business sector and all key stakeholders in ensuring the sustainability of transport systems, including environmental, economic and social aspects.
During session related to international projects, it was a great opportunity to disseminate Interreg Euro-MED project FRED. Faculty of Maritime Studies, as Lead partner of the FRED project, presented general information about the project, main achievements and work done so far.
The project will increase the prevention capacity of relevant authorities in six pilot areas across different countries and connect beneficiaries by capitalizing on results, developing a technology-based management tool and implementing a forest fire prevention strategy applicable to the entire Euro-Med region.
