Fifth Partner Meeting of the Interreg Euro-MED FRED Project Held in Bihać

On April 8–9, 2026, the fifth consortium meeting and Steering Committee meeting of the Interreg Euro-MED project FRED (Fire Free MED) was held in Bihać (Bosnia and Herzegovina). The meeting was hosted by National Park UNA, one of the project partners.

During the meeting, project partners exchanged information on the progress achieved so far and agreed on the next steps for the upcoming period. The working sessions covered several key topics, including an overview of the project work plan, the implementation of pilot activities (A2.2), and the presentation of the evaluation methodology (A3.1). In addition, discussions were held on the development of the Strategy and Action Plan (A3.3), with active contributions from all partners.

Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation with the Natural Heritage Mission thematic community, as well as on preparations for the final project conference.

Following the working sessions, the host organized a guided visit to the city of Bihać, as well as a field visit to Una National Park, including the Štrbački buk waterfall.

The project partners are looking forward to the upcoming Final Conference, which will take place in June 17-19, 2026 in Mali Lošinj.
